Platon is fear.less

fear.less "is a movement borne from our right to live without fear. It’s where human potential meets the courage to act." They are compiling stories from notable people who have faced or conquered fear and will be releasing an ebook, I believe.

I was happily surprised to receive their first story from photographer Platon.

This quote is the last bit of the article and I think sums it up nicely :

"It’s not about achieving or winning or acquiring something. It’s more visceral than that. It goes back to “Who am I? Am I happy? Am I really living? Am I mastering the art of living, or am I just being played here?” If you can really answer those very difficult questions, I do believe it’s the core of overcoming any fears you may have."

I think the better we know ourselves, the more at peace we are with ourselves, the less fear can effect our lives.

Equator Books

I'm in Santa Monica for a month!  Yesterday I was wandering the streets and stumbled into this really cool place called Equator Books.  They have collectible art, design and photography books (and lots of old issues of Playboy also.)  What I really liked about the store was that it is also a gallery space which rotates monthly.  This month is celebrity photographer Brad Elterman's series "Like it was Yesterday."

There are so many great little galleries and stores around here and so much to experience.  I'm going to go see what else I can find...

Supermodelquins

The economy is so bad, Old Navy has replaced real life people to model their clothes with manikins.

They're cleverly using it for some fun marketing also.
